Chimpanzee Cheesecake
4 tablespoons margarine
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
16 ounces cream cheese
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup mashed bananas (3 medium)
Microwave margarine in a 10-inch glass pie plate at HIGH for 45 seconds, or until melted. Add crumbs and sugar, blending well. Press crumb mixture onto bottom and sides of pie plate. Microwave at HIGH for 2 minutes, rotating plate midway through cooking. Set aside.
Microwave unwrapped cream cheese in glass mixer bowl at MEDIUM (50%) for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until softened. Beat well with electric mixer at high speed until fluffy. Add sugar, eating well. Add eggs and lemon juice; beat until smooth. Blend in bananas. Pour mixture into prepared crust. Microwave at MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) for 10 to 11 minutes, rotating plate every 2 minutes.
Let stand until cool. Refrigerate. Garnish each serving with sliced bananas, if you wish.

This is a well-made documentary with excellent footage, a complementary musical score, and a well-organized narrative that gives viewers a full portrait of a woman who, in 1960, went alone into the heart of Africa at the age of 26 and remained there for decades studying chimpanzees.
Louis Leakey chose Goodall's vocation for her. As his secretary she did not think she had the proper qualifications to study chimps, but he knew otherwise. He sent her to Gombe National Park in Tanzania. The details of Goodall's life given in this video describe not only why Goodall chose such an unusual life but how she has been able to do it, giving the viewer a reason to care about her and in turn about the chimps.
By observing the chimp societies for three decades, she discovered that they used tools, and though she originally thought they were more gentle than humans, she learned they had a dark side too. In 1975 four of her students were kidnapped by armed rebels from Zaire and were held for 10 weeks. Goodall was harshly criticized for caring more about her research than about her students. Confronting the controversy on film makes for fascinating dialogue as Goodall defends herself.
In Jane Goodall: My Life with the Chimpanzees, viewers will learn as much about this incredibly outspoken woman as about the chimps. Her crusade to save them in the wild (at the time of the filming there were only 160 chimps left in Gombe National Park) is extremely important, as is her campaign to improve the situations of chimps in zoos or in laboratories living in horrible conditions. A visit to the chimp cages in a U.S. lab is done with utmost taste but is still mind-blowing. But they will certainly know more about that historical fact after seeing the very clever and funny Space Chimps, a computer-animated film in which primates are sent off-planet once again by a space agency. When a probe from Earth gets zapped into a wormhole and ends up in the hands of a wannabe tyrant (voiced by Jeff Daniels) on a distant planet, a chimp crew is thrust in that same direction to see what's up. The simian team includes a by-the-book commander (Patrick Warburton), a brilliant scientist (Cheryl Hines), and a wild card named Ham III (Andy Samberg), a circus chimp whose grandfather happened to be an astronaut legend in the old space program.
