Baked Spaghetti Pie
2 pounds spaghetti
2 pounds ricotta cheese
1/2 cup whole milk
3 large eggs
1 pound ground beef
1 pound spicy Italian sausage
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
1 pound Provolone cheese, sliced thin
1/2 cup Romano cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
In a large pan, boil spaghetti 20 minutes; drain and set aside. Mix ricotta, milk and eggs together in a small bowl; add to spaghetti and stir together. Press into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan until compact and even. Cook ground beef and sausage in a large skillet. Drain fat, removing as much as possible.
Stir in spaghetti sauce. Spread evenly over spaghetti base in pan. Layer slices of Provolone over meat mixture, then add the grated Romano on top of that. Bake 20 minutes.

Router Safety Tips:
It's easy to prevent mishaps if you take a few simple precautions:
1) Rockler recommends using 1/2" shank router bits whenever possible. 1/2" shanks provide better stability with less vibration to produce a smoother cut and longer cutter life.
2) Make multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut.
3) Install your router bit so that 90% of the shank is inside the collet. Here's a rule of thumb: fully insert the bit, then pull it back out 1/16" to 1/8".
4) Use a router table whenever possible.
5) When using large diameter bits, reduce the RPM of your router; then test your set-up on scrap lumber.
6) Always follow your router manufacturer's recommendations.

Starting the mid-'90s, the Baked Potato became one of the few spots where you could hear top L.A. players blowing fusion hot and heavy on a nightly basis. Culled from a series of 1999 performances at the new Baked Potato, now situated near the legendary Hollywood intersection of Sunset and Vine, this CD features train wrecks, warts, and inspired moments under the direction of guitarist Jeff Richman. It's definitely a mixed bag, but there is enough energy and deft soloing here to cause an earthquake. Since much of the action revolves around the drummers (and their ability to make these jams gel), what better way than to start off with a magnificent performance by Vinnie Colaiuta on Peter Gabriel's "Mercy Street." Richman, saxophonist Steve Tavaglione, and bassist Abe Laboriel are no slouches, but the anticipation of Colaiuta's solo is palpable, and he doesn't disappoint, exploding with a rush of bass drum/tom flurries and whirling-dervish snare and cymbal stickings. A few Richman originals follow and are pleasant enough, executed by bassist Jimmy Haslip, drummers Chad Wackerman and Ralph Humphreys, pianist Russell Ferrante, and saxophonist Brandon Fields. But then Marcus Miller's "Splatch" fires it up with a 16th-note groove from drummer Dave Weckl and Richman's soaring fretwork.
