1 box devil's food cake mix with pudding in mix
Mix as directed.
Filling
5 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Frosting
1/2 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons milk
6 tablespoons butter/margarine
Grease two jellyroll pans. Divide batter, half in each pan, Bake 12 minutes.
Blend flour, salt and milk. Heat until thickened. Cool thoroughly. Cream sugar, shortening and butter at high speed, gradually adding cooled mixture. Beat at high speed 7-8 minutes. Spread on one pan of cooled cake. Invert other jellyroll pan with cake on top.
Frosting: Boil 3 minutes and then add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Beat until chips melt. Spread on bars.

As with Disney's other made-for-video sequels, The Little Mermaid II looks and sounds wonderful (and reunites much of the same vocal talent). Four- to nine-year-olds who grew up with the original will certainly enjoy seeing the friends again. A new set of artists has come up with four catchy tunes and some fun new characters, including Tip and Dash, a pensive penguin and his blubbery walrus friend. Yet, where Beauty and the Beast had a deliberate Christmas-themed sequel, and Pocahontas told the tale of her historical trip to England, the plot here is very forced. It is pretty much a rehash of the first film with different characters. Tip and Dash are a reincarnation of Timon and Pumbaa, and Morgana is exactly like her sister, except thinner. Besides the stellar music, this unneeded sequel also misses another important aspect of the original--heart. --Doug Thomas

The LaCie Little Disk features both FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 connections, giving you maximum versatility and compatibility wherever you go. The USB 2.0 connection works with nearly all computers, and the LaCie Little Disk makes it especially easy because the USB cable is integrated into the drive, so it can't be lost or forgotten. The Little Disk is also USB bus-powered, so you don't need to carry around a cumbersome power supply; just bring the drive with you and it will power off whatever computer you connect it to. The drive's USB 2.0 offers an interface transfer rate of up to 480 Mbps, and up to 34MB/s burst speed.
