Casserole in a Pumpkin
1 medium pumpkin, decorated with black marker
1 chopped onion
1 to 2 pounds ground beef
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms (optional)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 to 2 cups cooked rice
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts (can substitute celery, chopped)
Clean out pumpkin and decorate, if desired.
Brown hamburger and onion. Drain well. Mix in remaining ingredient. Put pumpkin on cookie sheet. Fill pumpkin with meat mixture. Place in oven and bake pumpkin with lid on for 1 hour at 350 degrees F or until pumpkin is tender. Ladle out at the table directly from the pumpkin.

Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep.
Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility-you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, sauté, simmer, and bake in it. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Given the two belated live-action sequels and numerous other TV and video spinoffs spawned by Disney's charming 1961 animated original, the Dalmatian count is more like 1,001 by now. This reissued soundtrack (admirably restored in the late '90s by producer Randy Thornton) showcases the original orchestral film cues of George Bruns to good effect. While the composer's bright, lively work was largely fragmentary (originally written as punctuation for the film's turns of action and comedy), its components have been skillfully sequenced and gently edited here for a more cohesive listening experience. The film's most memorable musical moments remain Mel Levin's delightful trio of songs, "Kanine Krunchies," "Dalmatian Plantation," and, of course, the classic villainess romp "Cruella DeVil." Bonus cuts include both a bluesy piano rendition and Levin's decidedly goofy piano/vocal demo of the latter tune.
