Calabria Fruited Hearth Bread (Two Pack)View This Product at AmazonCalabria fruited hearth bread is a delightful, sunny bread from the Calabria region of Southern Italy!
This hearth bread is unique and wonderful and yet you can still make it in your bread machine.
Calabria is a sunny region in the south of Italy, on the "toe of the boot". It has a wonderfully diverse climate--deep in the Mediterranean yet with towering mountains where the temperatures can drop below zero. The orchards surrounding the quiet villages produce a wonderful assortment of fruit. No wonder Calabria with its Old World charm, inspired a bread like this.
We've captured the charm of Calabria in this wonderful bread. You'll find a delightful assortment of sunny fruit in every bite, just a touch of spice, and a bit of sourdough tang. This is a very balanced bread with the sweetness of the fruit playing against the complex flavors of rustic sourdough. The crust is chewy but not heavy. If you toast it, you will find a crusty, hearty bread. It's a hearth bread like no other and one that you'll be very proud of.
With all the fruit in this bread, this is not an inexpensive bread. But it's worth it. You'll find over a cup of premium dried fruit in each loaf.
* This package contains two hearth bread mixes. Each mix makes a large loaf--approximately two pounds.
* Each mix includes over a cup of specially selected premium fruit. Each package of two mixes contains nearly 2 1/2 cups.
* SAF yeast packets are enclosed. You provide only water.
* Directions and tips for perfect bread are included.
This bread is a wonderful complement to great meals. It also makes a great appetizer and you'll absolutely love it for morning toast. And try it for a surprisingly delightful ham sandwich!
Delight your family and friends with this bread.
Fruited Mustard Sauces - Apricot (4.2 ounce) by igourmet.comView This Product at AmazonAt the start of the 20th century Luigi Lazzaris & Son founded a small pastry shop in Conegliano Veneto. After much experimenting, he invented a sweet, spicy delicacy by mixing sugar, quince, candied fruit and mustard oil together. For over 100 years, his confection has won many prizes. Although it was originally produced for a Christmas treat, it is now consumed all year round.
Mostardas originated in the 17th century when farming families prepared a special flour, mustard, vinegar, candied fruit and wine must dressing (wine must is how the recipe adopted the name mostarda) for their holiday celebrations. Modern mostarda is made from quince, sugar, candied fruit and mustard oil. Modern variations include: Veneta Mostarda, Mantova Mostarda, and Fruit (or Cremona) Mostarda.
- Apricot sauce (salsa): Ideal with cold cuts and game or on buttered toast.
- Pear Sauce: perfect with Parmesan and Grana Padano or any aged, robust cheese.
- Orange Sauce: a combination of orange varieties and pure quality mustard oil; its sweet and sour taste is a perfect partner for roast duck, chicken, game and fresh, creamy cheeses.
- Fig Sauce: the fig has been used over the years to embellish simple dishes or adorn aristocratic recipes. An excellent accompaniment to game, hams and fresh or slightly mature cheeses.
- Quince Sauce: This sauce is ideal to garnish cold hors d'oeuvres (such as tartlets and canapés), different kinds of savory pastry (cold pies and vol-au-vents) and sweet pastry (puff pastry and tarts).Enjoyed on its own or as an accompaniment to main courses, this sauce complements breads or cheeses and other delicious recipes.
- Varieties sold separately.

From Coastal Wilderness to Fruited Plain: A History of Environmental Change in Temperate North America from 1500 to the Present
View This Product at Amazon
From Coastal Wilderness to Fruited Plain is an account of the making of the American landscape following European settlement. It starts with "virgin" forests and grasslands of the central and northeastern United States, and successively documents the clearance and fragmentation of the region's woodlands, the harvest of the forest and its game, the plowing of prairies and the draining of wetlands. The Native American, the trapper, the farmer and the lumberman all benefited from the land and its resources; the degree to which their activities altered the soil, the climate, the natural plant and animal communities, and the water cycle is examined here.
The 2007-2012 Outlook for Fruited Bakery Snacks in Greater China
View This Product at Amazon
This study covers the latent demand outlook for fruited bakery snacks across the regions of Greater China, including provinces, autonomous regions (Guangxi, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xizang - Tibet), municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Tianjin), special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and Taiwan (all hereafter referred to as “regions”). Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,100 cities in Greater China. For each major city in question, the percent share the city is of the region and of Greater China is reported. Each major city is defined as an area of “economic population”, as opposed to the demographic population within a legal geographic boundary. For many cities, the economic population is much larger that the population within the city limits; this is especially true for the cities of the Western regions. For the coastal regions, cities which are close to other major cities or which represent, by themselves, a high percent of the regional population, actual city-level population is closer to the economic population (e.g. in Beijing). Based on this “economic” definition of population, comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city’s marketing and distribution value vis-à -vis others. This exercise is quite useful for persons setting up distribution centers or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each region and city of influence, latent demand estimates are created for fruited bakery snacks. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.
