1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup oats
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup Rice Krispies
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Cream the shortening, sugars and eggs together until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredient mix to the creamed shortening and sugar mixture. Drop tablespoon-size spoonsful of dough onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F just until browned.

Television recordings will typically consume 5 GB of disk space per hour for ATSC high definition, while analog recordings will typically consume 1.5 GB of disk space per hour. PVR stands for PC Video Recorder. The WinTV-HVR-950 is a PVR that allows you to play television through your computer and record the broadcasts digitally. PVR doesn't use standard videocassettes; instead, it uses your computer's hard disk to store the broadcasts.
Once you record a television show to your PC's hard drive, you can burn a CD or DVD that will allow you to play the show back on another computer or on your television. Cushioned between two giant nebulae there lies a fertile region of space known as the 'Cradle of Life,' from which all known life emerged on seven distinct worlds. Each world developed in isolation until one species on each planet developed the intelligence and technology to explore beyond its terrestrial boundaries. After thousands of years of space travel, all seven intelligent species developed a long history of trade, immigration and cultural exchange. But all this changed with the development of space gateway technology, which allowed ships to travel vast distances instantaneously. Thanks to gateways each species was able to unite nearby star systems into groups called sectors. Gradually, eight distinct sectors emerged, settling more than twenty different star systems. Later as gateways advanced, entire sectors were united through inter-sector gateways. Before long, all eight sectors could be easily reached. As inter-sector travel became possible, so did the temptation for conquest. Weaker star systems once protected by the vast distances of space suddenly found themselves within easy reach of powerful tyrants hungry for ever more territory. Because of this, some say that the Imperial Wars were inevitable and thus also the saga of Shattered Suns.
The Present: The Rise of Empire and Captain MaxAs the second Imperial War comes to a close, the known universe is carved up between two great empires. The last free sector falls to the overwhelming might of empire and a rebellion is born. Fleeing from the conquering occupation forces, one brave captain finds the means to hide and survive until the time is right to fight again. You are that captain, Captain Max, and with the help of the underground resistance, the black market and countless brave citizens longing for the return of their freedoms, you begin to build a new fleet of freedom fighters. Your hopes are that his minor rebellion will grow into a massive uprising, but that hope is far from certain. Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker (The Ice Cream Ball)View This Product at Amazon
With the unique Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker, you can make ice cream while on camping trips, at picnics, barbecues, and many other places. You don't need electricity to make great tasting ice cream, but rather just add ice and rock salt in one end and ice cream mix in the other end. Then, have a ball as you shake it, pass it, or roll it around for 10 to 15 minutes. The ice cream mix can be as simple as cream, sugar, and vanilla or you can try a more adventurous flavor from the included recipe list or make up your own concoction. Made of durable polycarbonate, the Ice Cream Ball is lightweight, portable, and easy to clean.
How it Works:
- Fill the ice end with as much ice as possible, then add 1/2 cup of rock salt to the pint size or 3/4 cup to the Mega size. The lid should be hand tightened--do not use the wrench.
- Mix up your ice cream ingredients in a container, then pour the mix into the end with the metal cylinder, leaving about one inch for expansion at the top. Hand tighten the lid.
- Have a ball! Shake, roll, and pass it around as you mix and freeze the ingredients. It's not necessary to shake the ball...just motion will do it.
- After about 10 minutes for the pint size and 15 minutes for the Mega ball, open the ice cream end using the included plastic wrench. Scrape the sides of the cylinder to mix up the ice cream using a plastic or wooden spoon (don't use a metal spoon as it will scratch the cylinder). Then check the ice end. Pour out the excess water and add more ice and up to 1/3 cup more rock salt to enhance the freezing ability. Close the lids securely and continue having a ball for approximately 5 to 10 more minutes (15 for the Mega).
- You will then have about a pint (or quart for the Mega ball) of delicious soft-serve ice cream. The consistency will vary based on the ice, your mix, the outside temperature, shaking frequency, etc. Once the ice cream is to the consistency of your liking, gently scoop it out and enjoy!
Important tips for using your Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker:
- Directions and recipes are inside the Ball.
- Use cream instead of half and half for richer tasting ice cream.
- Leave about an inch of space for expansion when you fill up the can with the ice cream mix.
- After 10 minutes (15 for Mega ball) of mixing (shaking, rolling, and passing), it is important to stir the ice cream mix (it freezes more around the can). Also, drain the water and refill with ice and additional rock salt. Have fun for another 10 to 15 minutes and you're done.
- Use the provided plastic wrench to open the ball, but not to close it.
