2 medium potatoes
1 medium onion
1 small jalapeńo pepper (optional)
6 to 8 flour tortillas
5 thick slices bacon
4 eggs
Dice potatoes, bacon and onions. Mix together. Cook in a covered cast iron skillet until potatoes are soft.
Beat eggs and pour over the potato mixture. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir to mix. Cover and cook until eggs are done. Spread in hot tortillas and serve.

If her compositions pale a bit next to the classics she covers (with the sultry and slithery exception of the excellent "Eliminate the Night"), give Osborne credit for bravely placing herself side-by-side with songwriting luminaries like Holland-Dozier-Holland and Bill Withers. The only sour note in the whole film is Mickey Rooney's demeaning performance as the apartment's Japanese manager, an offensively overdone stereotype even in 1961. The rest of the film has weathered the decades well. Edwards's elegant yet light touch, Axelrod's generous screenplay, and Hepburn's mix of knowing experience and naiveté combine to create one of the great screen romances and a refined slice of high society bohemian chic. --Sean Axmaker
