Juicy Roast
1 (2 1/2 pound) chuck roast
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 (.75 ounce) package dry brown gravy mix
1 1/2 cups juice of choice (apple, orange, cran-raspberry, etc.)
Place roast in crockpot. Sprinkle dry mixes over roast. Pour juice over the top. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.

Newcastle sits at about 1,000 feet in elevation at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains east of Sacramento. The Satsuma mandarin was introduced to Placer County in the 1880's when Welsh settlers established the town of Penryn. Since 1950 Frank Aguilar has been tending the orchards of his ranch.
