Easter Bunny Patch Cake
Yield: 12 servings
1 (10 3/4 ounce) frozen pound cake, thawed, cut into 10 slices
1 (21 ounce) can any pie filling
1 (12 ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
1 cup shredded coconut
Green food coloring
Jelly beans and assorted Easter decorations
Line bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cake slices. Top with pie filling and all of the whipped topping. Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve.
Tint coconut pale green with food coloring. Sprinkle over center of whipped topping. Decorate with Easter candies and decorations.

This 90-minute concert, filmed in Las Vegas in '99 and subsequently broadcast on HBO, is Cher in all her kitschy glory. She's a performer, not just a singer (a good thing, given her limited if distinctive voice), and the show gives us the requisite array of Bob Mackie costumes (Valkyrie and vamp, pirate and prostitute, and one item that she herself describes as "Bozo the Clown meets Braveheart"), wigs galore, a host of beautiful bodies writhing about onstage in what might charitably be called "interpretive dances" (also known as "filler while the star changes outfits")....
Oh, and there's music too, from the old hits ("Half Breed," "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves") to "Believe," the late '90s techno-dance smash that here is saved until last, with a few covers thrown in for good measure (U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"? Go figure). We also get some old Sonny & Cher TV clips (bet you didn't remember that Ronald Reagan and David Bowie appeared on their show), highlights from her very impressive film career, still photos, drawings of Mackie's creations, and the "Walking in Memphis" music video. The playing owes nothing to period practice, and is performed on modern instruments at modern concert pitch with a full-sized choir. What brings the music to life is Rilling's obvious passion for Bach's profoundly beautiful melodies and grand choral effects. He encourages the singers to think structurally, in terms of both whole movements and the direction of each phrase, and the interplay with obbligato instruments is delightful. The singing is exquisite, especially from the lusciously juicy Arleen Auger and the brighter-voiced Costanza Cuccaro. There is Yorgie, the Yellow Dragon, who is just plain mean; there is Grundle, the Green Dragon, who is mean and ferocious; and there is Rhindle, the Red Dragon, who is the most ferocious of all. Rhindle is also the fastest Dragon and is the most difficult to outmaneuver. There are three castles in the Kingdom; the White Castle, the Black Castle, and the Golden Castle. Each castle has a Gate over the entrance. The Gate can be opened with the corresponding colored Key. Inside each Castle are rooms(or dungeons, depending at which Skill Level you are playing). The Castles are separated by rooms, pathways, and labyrinths. Common to all the Skill Levels is the Blue Labyrinth through which you must find your way to the Black Castle. Skill Levels 2 and 3 have a more complicated Kingdom.
